    About Me

I am human, but I try to live with integrity, hard work ethic, and a genuine intent to do good in my life and others. As I have grown, I realize time is fleeting and not worth dwelling on negativity and things outside of my control.

Read below to get a glimpse into my life.

I’m now a Veteran Coach with my business, VA Ratings (Valor Advantage Ratings), working under the Just 4 Veterans umbrella. I am HIPAA Certified and Professional Life Coach Certified. I focus on educating other Veterans to get the VA claims they deserve; especially those who feel hopeless because they lack medical documentation from their time in uniform. I’ve been there. While I was enlisted, going to sick call was stigmatized; you risked being labeled a “sick-call ranger,” “weak,” or worse. I had no medical records to lean on, and I know exactly how defeating that feels. Thats why after several attempts myself and with free services I gave up until almost 15 years after discharge from active service. Now I use my experience to help others push through the process with clarity, evidence, and persistence. I trust this process because I lose if you lose—and we both win if you win.

Off the clock, I’m a husband and dad first. I met my wife in Hawaii while she was going for her BSN; we endured years of long-distance while I was at Fort Hood and we’ve been married for over 15 years. We’re raising three boys who are all-in on soccer, basketball, jiu-jitsu, and art—so weekends are a blur of fields, mats, and sketchbooks. We are Christians and are raising our boys to be God fearing men. When I can find time, I enjoy golfing (although I’m not great), fishing, gaming, range day, hunting, and anything outdoors.

I built my life on service and a steady climb. My family hails from a line of prior service military members from many different U.S branches. I myself served three years in the U.S. Army as a 19D Cavalry Scout, rose to Specialist (E-4), and deployed to Iraq from late 2008 to late 2009. That deployment forged my habits: 360° awareness, accountability for people and equipment, and doing the hard work without fanfare.

After the Army, I started at the bottom rung in the electrical trade and fought my way up. I worked as a Commercial Electrician (2011–2015), served as a Field Superintendent (2015–2019), and later served as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Estimator (2019–2025)—where I ran complex commercial jobs end-to-end. I also served as a Safety Director (2019–2025)—tightening standards, training crews, and pushing for incident-free execution. Along the way I earned my Texas Master Electrician license (2018) and taught second-year electricians at IEC San Antonio (2018–2025)—print reading, code, calculations, motors, and transformers. I also taught briefly at Alamo Colleges, St. Philip’s Southwest Campus (2025)–for motor controls before deciding to make a career change.

I’m currently pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with plans on continuing straight into a Master’s in Electrical Engineering Management—formalizing the electrical & engineering depth I brought to the field and the classroom.

Soldier-tested, blue-collar work ethic, white-collar responsibility. I show up, take ownership, and get the job done—whether that is in a combat zone, on a live job site, in a classroom, or beside a Veteran pushing for the benefits they earned.
